Just think of hauling an elephant inside!\u201d \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u201cHaha,\u201d said Bobby, \u201cImagine getting giraffes in too!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, can either of you older ones remember what the main speaker was talking about this morning?\u201d Uncle Jeff asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, it was about the lamp that Moses had made in the wilderness, that was to go in God\u2019s tent,\u2018 said Bobby, \u201cThe tent was called the tabernacle.\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said lots of things about the lamp,\u201d Sarah said thoughtfully, \u201cI never knew it meant so many things.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why it\u2019s important to think about them,\u201d Uncle Jeff said, :\u201dEverything in the Old Testament part of the Bible has a matching part in the New Testament.\u201d \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u201cReally?\u201d said Sarah, \u201cI didn\u2019t know that!\u201d \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u201cYes,\u201d said Uncle Jeff, \u201dThat\u2019s why God told Moses to make it exactly to the pattern He gave him, because it was all a picture of something in heaven\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cOoh,\u201d said Betty, \u201cWas Noah\u2019s Ark a picture of something too, Uncle Jeff ?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSure was,\u201d he said, \u201cWhat do you think it might have been a picture of Bobby?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, it saved Noah and his family and all the animals in it from being drowned,\u201d Bobby said after thinking for a while, \u201c So I guess it was a picture of how the Lord Jesus saves us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s right,\u201d Uncle Jeff agreed, \u201cBut let\u2019s get back to the lamp. It had seven branches all decorated up beautifully. Why do you think there was one tall one in the middle with six others around it?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, the Lord Jesus is in the middle of His people,\u201d Sarah said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s right,\u201d Uncle Jeff agreed, \u201cWhat does a light do?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt chases the dark away,\u201d piped up Betty.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow does Jesus chase the dark away from us then?\u201d Uncle Jeff asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said He was the light of the world, \u201c said Sarah, \u201cThere is no darkness in Him at all anywhere, and He never stops shining.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, that\u2019s true. He said too that we must be lights in this world showing others how to live right. What makes those old fashioned lamps keep burning brightly?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI know!\u201d Bobby said, \u201cThey\u2019ve got a wick down in some oil inside them and the wick has to be kept trimmed all the time or else the light gets dull\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo what do you think that means?\u201d said Uncle Jeff, changing gear as they came to a hill.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess it means that we are like the wick that needs to be trimmed too,\u201d Sarah said, \u201cWhen we get into bad habits, God needs to trim us up.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you think it would be pleasant for the wick to be trimmed?\u201d asked\u00a0 Uncle Jeff.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t like to be trimmed,\u201d said Betty.<\/p>\n

\u201cHo ho, you sure don\u2019t like it when you have to go to your room for being naughty!\u201d Bobby chortled.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou too!\u201d and Betty gave him a poke.<\/p>\n

\u201cOK, OK,\u201d said Uncle Jeff, \u201cWhat was the lampstand made out of?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPure gold\u201d, Bobby said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat did the preacher say that was a picture of?\u201d Uncle Jeff asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a picture of how the Lord Jesus was God\u2019s Son and just like Him,\u201d Sarah said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, and what else does it show us about the Lord Jesus?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was beautiful,\u201d Bobby said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, and He lasts for ever.\u201d Sarah added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen gold costs a lot of money,\u2019 Bobby said, \u201cAnd I guess it means that Jesus is just the bestest person there has ever been!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell done!\u201d Uncle Jeff said as he turned into their street, \u201cWhat was one last thing the preacher said about the lamp?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt kept burning all night till the morning!\u201d Betty said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was going to say that!\u201d Bobby said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat does the morning mean then?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, the morning is like when Jesus comes back again, and the night has gone\u201d Sarah said, \u201cAnd we have to keep shining for Him until He comes back again!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s dead right,\u201d Uncle Jeff\u00a0 said as he turned into their driveway, and pulled up, \u201cNow it\u2019s up to us to remember all these things and all be little lights for Jesus. .Let\u2019s go inside now and find something to eat!\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
